Crown Hotel Main Street – breakfast, lunch and dinner

Our local and recommended. A friendly pub that serves hearty food, real ales and sporting events. Accredited with Visit Scotland’s ‘Taste our Best’ award which guarantees the provenance of the produce and the overall eating experience.

Old Bank Coffee House and Restaurant - breakfast and lunch.

Full cooked Scottish Breakfasts or something lighter, soup and sandwiches or lunches Afternoon Tea and High tea. Our favourite choices are the steak pie and Cajun chicken sandwich. Their High tea was a special treat for a significant birthday – just bring a big appetite. Locally produce food with a wide menu choice. A spacious, light and comfortable environment which is particularly enjoyable in the colder months with a wood fire.

5 Main St, Callander, FK17 8DU 01877 330651

Not dog friendly but there are outdoor seats on the main pavement

Puddingstone Place - breakfast and lunch. Dinner on the weekends only.

If you like a big traditional breakfast, it’s a great choice.

Main street, right round the corner from the Nest Holiday Home.

Crags – Indian - Dinner.

Their restaurant serves rather delicious Indian cuisine - well-balanced and expertly cooked. You can enjoy curries across their menu from a “blow your top off” Vindaloo, more traditional madra or bhuna and everything in between to saag and chasni.

Thursday to Sunday 5pm to 9pm

101 Main Street, Callander, FK17 8BQ 01877 330257

Abbotsford Lodge – lunch (weekends) and dinner

This is our favourite place for a celebratory meal. The menu is sublime.

Stirling Road – take a right from Aros Lane

Old Rectory Inn

Themed nights for food with live entertainment from Thursday to Sunday.

Steak night was very enjoyable. Curry night has room for improvement.

Outdoor sheltered beer garden which is dog friendly.

Roman Camp Bistro

Pre-booking in the summer is essential. Better for lunch than dinner, in our view.

Main Street, Book via the hotel 01877 360392

Roman Camp

An old-worldly hotel with faultless food on their tasting menu. As they say, you get what you pay for but this is more of a special occasion dining experience rather than an everyday one.

Main Street, 01877 360392

The Meadows – snacks, lunch, dinner

More than a little over-priced but a pleasant garden setting.  We can’t recommend the dinner experience.

Coffee shops and takeaways

Qrk Clothing & Vintage Tearoom – breakfast and lunch

There aren’t many places you can shop for a tea dress, while enjoying a cup of tea, too. The coffee cake is highly recommended.

86 Main Street

Dog friendly

Ben Ledi Coffee Company – breakfast and lunch

Their latte with carrot and walnut cake is sublime. Limited but good selection of bagels and smoothies. On a dry day the outdoor garden is secluded and thronging with birds.

11 Main Street

Dog friendly – with lactose free ice-cream for your pooch

Deli Ecosse – breakfast and lunch

A unique space full of character. Very reasonably priced with freshly produced food.

10 Ancaster Square

Frying Dutchman

Debatably the best chips in town.

Tasty Fry

Great fish and chips, but often with a bit of a queue. Be prepared.

Dogs are allowed in the open air garden only

Luti’s Pizza and Pasta Parlour

Pizza and pasta as you’d expect, some ingredients you wouldn’t like beetroot and goats cheers and truffles.

Don’t forget the gelato. Does anyone do it better than the Italians?

65A Main Street

Main Street Bakery

Pies, cakes, soup. Read the reviews to see what all the fuss, and the line out the door at lunch, is all about.

56 Main Street, next to the square.

Mhor Bread and Store

Alongside their coffee, their specialities are sour dough breads and French-style tarts. Try the Frangipan – you won’t be sorry.

8 Main Street

Dog friendly

McLaren Leisure Centre – breakfast and lunch

Cafe for light bites during the day.

Mollands Road, Callander, FK17 8JP
