If you want to combine history with walking, do remember Stirlingshire, in the central belt, only a short drive from Nest Holiday Home.

Stirling City has a charming castle (we prefer it to Edinburgh) and a rich history of battles such as the Battle of Stirling Bridge and Bannockburn. The proud Wallace monument set high on its hill and popular Dumyat lend themselves to a unique landscape

You can spend the day traipsing the Ochil Hills or if you are short of time, explore the neighbouring dramatic glens.
